Late Update

So just now, Brooklyn wanted to watch "Fishies?" (aka Finding Nemo), which is her favorite movie. I need to pack for our camp out tonight so I decided I would let her but asked her how she asked nicely. She won't say please out loud because we taught her the sign for it so long ago which is to rub your chest, flat-palmed with one hand. This time, I think she really wanted to do things well and ask really nicely because she put down the movie very carefully and emphatically rubbed her entire torso with both hands. How could I refuse?

This is just a sample of how adorable she is and how much of a real person she is starting to turn into. Maybe we've been saying that for the past 12 months, but it just keeps going and its wonderful to see.

IN OTHER NEWS: Matt just finished his second semester of medical school, that we've heard is particularly hard (and we believe it) and that culminated in a long, and grueling week of finals. Yay! He's done (for a week)!!!! We're excited to actually see each other for a few days. As was alluded to before, we are kicking off the break with a little camping trip with our friends. I'll have to blog about that (since I blog about all those exciting little things that happen to us, like I have for he past 6 months ... ).

ONE MORE FUNNY STORY: I actually think there are two more I wanted to record but I didn't and now I can't remember the other one. THe one I remember is that I was baking cookies one day a few weeks ago and ran out of counter space (go figure). Brooklyn was in the back room so I decided I could put a pan on the piano bench. I few minutes later she came out and, of course, went to the cookies. I warned her they were hot so she kept her distance, but eventually she decided they were cool enough and started poking at them. They were cool so no problem, but I think she was having a hard time. She went over to the "spoon/spatula" drawer (she knows my kitchen) and pulled out a spatula. SHe proceeded to try to get the cookies off the cookie sheet with the spatula and succeeded! (SHe may have used her hands.)

That in itself I think is brilliant but then she took the first cookie and brought it to me. The second cookie she began eating and sharing with her bears and babies.

They love the cookies- Kylee would prefer Twinkies, Zingers or Oreo, but she will go for cookie.
