Brooklyn...

is growing. Not only has she outgrown all but 2 of her church dresses, but she is learning so much and turning into such a cute little girl. Tonight we were reading scriptures (out of the New Testament children's reader) and she was telling me what she remembered of the stories we have talked about before. (Sometimes it only consisted of "He's wearing blue!" - very insightful). In the stories surrounding Jesus birth I had a very hard time explaining that Joseph was told by an angel to marry Mary (saying it out loud is not nearly as clear as reading it). After stuttering over that explanation a little bit, I would say, slowly, "The angel told Joseph to get married to Mary." Still kind of a mouthful and a little confusing. But it stuck! If Brooklyn is ever telling you the Christmas story she will probably introduce the characters as "Joseph" and "Marry-to-Mary."

We went on in the scriptures and she found when John the Baptist baptizes Jesus. I was so impressed with this because she started to say "Jesus got married ... No. He go baptized with John." No prompting from me!

It is so amazing too how much imagination she has already. We spent a good portion of time yesterday going around a home-made track in the style of different animals. Speaking of animals, in case you didn't know Old MacDonald's farm is expanding in miraculous ways. In addition to the traditional dog, cow, and pig, Old MacDonals also has a princess, a flower, and (my favorite) a choo choo train. "With a choo choo here, and a choo choo there. Here a chug, there a chug, chugga chugga choo choo!" Sometimes it just takes a bit of imspiration for her to get started. When we came home from a walk this evening we found one of ehr bears on the steps. I suggested she take it in and wrap it in a blanket because it was probably cold. I didn't see her for the rest of the evening as she very thoroughly tended to all her animals and babies.

Stay in tune for a post on her first haircut!!!
