Catch-up Post

As time has gone by I have not completely forgotten about my goal to post more often. I have even gotten on blogger many times only to be interrupted and further delayed. I have, however, compiled a list of things I have been meaning to blog about. In order to get past the "catch-up" phase and into actual blogging, I will just include the list with some brief comments and a few photos. Enjoy!

Broo's haircut - I have it recorded as happening on August 12, 2011. Here's some pics:

Yes, this is really all that I cut off.

anniversary - 5 years!!!

trip to Strawberry - While all of Matt's family got to be home we took a trip to Strawberry, AZ - a little mountain town with cabins and creeks and hikes and all sorts of good stuff. One of the highlights was Tonto Natural Bridge. I always have a hard time being patient with pictures loading but I'll try to get some good ones. It was also just wonderful to be all together.
I don't think this quite does it justice but you kind of get the idea. It is like a really awesome cave that is very open on both sides. So it is a bridge but so big you can't tell it when you are on top.

Here's the crew. (I am behind the camera - my newest child/love).

 Precious.

This is from the other side as the first picture.

This waterfall comes from the top of the "bridge." It falls into a pool that is off limits but there are other places in the "cave" where you can stand under the "rain."

Uncle K leaves for his mission in England in January!!!

swim lessons - Brooklyn took swim lessons. I don't practice with her enough so she still relies on floaties but she had a good time.  No pics. It is hard to take pictures of your two kids in the water when you are by yourself. "Ok, kids. Have fun in the water. I'm just gonna snap a few pictures." :) Not so much.

cardio rotation/interest in pathology - this blog is in random order because I really am just filling in from my list. Which is way dated because pathology (which we are still interested in) is long gone as is cardio and he is onto psychiatry. And, as you might expect, it is crazy! In case any of you had secret hopes Matt would be a shrink - forget it! It is definitely interesting and his preceptor (doctor over him) is great, but it is not a very uplifting job.

photo class - I took one and loved it. Here are a few of my favorite pictures I took for assignments.

 panning

I have also had one official photo shoot since then and, though it went fairly well, I need more practice so expect to have a photo shoot with your family/spouse/pet/whatever next time we are together.

joyschool - Brooklyn has started and it is awesome ... what else can I say!

almost walking (Benson), hugs, cute-ness - He's not one of those take a few falling steps towards Mom kind of kids. Whenever I try to get him to walk (or even say the "w" word) he falls to his knees. But if he is playing and just can't be bothered with getting down to crawl then he will take a few steps. I think three is still his top. I think one of the motivations is just to carry stuff. He loves to just stand and hold anything - even if its too big for him.

He gives the best hugs. He'll even pat my back or play with my ponytail. And as you can tell from previous pictures - he is cute. And turns one this week!!!

Sorry you missed Brooklyn's birthday. It was fun. We had a pinata even! And streamers for the kids to dance with. Here's a few pics.
